SCADA audit and live network map
A full audit of a water plant's SCADA, and a live map that shows the health of every network device on the plant's own drawing.
The hard part
Survey and monitor a running plant network with read-only access, without touching the control logic.
What I built
An audit of a Wonderware System Platform with 12,004 I/O on Schneider, Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, a live network-health map built from the plant AutoCAD drawing, and an IEC 62443 zoning plan.
Result
117 devices on two sites shown live as working, degraded or offline, on the drawing the plant staff already know.
The problem
The plant had no up-to-date record of its SCADA: which devices were on the network, how they were connected, and which ones were failing.
What I delivered
- An audit report of the Wonderware System Platform: 12,004 I/O across Schneider, Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
- A network survey turned into a live map, drawn from the plant’s own AutoCAD network drawing, with each device coloured by its current state.
- An IEC 62443 zoning plan for separating the control network into protected zones.
The same read-only connection also feeds AlertEye, the spoken alarm system.
